PESIT is managed by the People ‘s Education Society (PES), which was founded in 1972, in a rented gymnasium in Bangalore, with around 40 students. PES currently manages over 45 educational programs in Karnataka and neighboring Andhra Pradesh, with a total of over 15000 students. PESIT was founded in 1988, as the first engineering college under the PES

PESIT is located on the 100 Feet Ring Road in the Hosakerehalli locality of Bangalore. The college has six major blocks.

PESIT was ranked #35 by Outlook India Top Engineering Colleges of 2012 and #30 by Dataquest India ‘s Top Engineering Colleges 2011. In rankings limited to private colleges it was ranked #13 by Mint Top 50 Private Engineering Colleges of 2009.

Admission criteria

PESIT admits students to undergraduate courses based on their Karnataka CET or their COMED-K UGET test ranks. PESIT also admits students under Management quota, which does not place any merit requirements. There is a lateral entry scheme in place, by which students holding diploma degrees can directly enter the second year of study in engineering. On graduating students receive a Bachelor of Engineering degree.

PESIT offers Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) 4 year degree programs in following disciplines:

Peoples Education Society (PES) was established in 1972. PES runs a group of premier institutions that offer a multitude of diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in Commerce, Engineering, Management, Medicine, Pharmacy and Science disciplines.

PESSE is equipped with state of the art facility providing the right ambience that ensures the best of teaching, learning and research engagements. A WI-Fi campus with 1 Mbps internet lease line greets any person to stay connected all the time. The classroom ambience is comparable to very few. Spaciously designed faculty court with network connections provides privacy and scope for research.

The department is comprised of faculty members from various disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, language training (English and Kannada) and training in soft skills. The department also imparts knowledge on subjects like Environmental studies and Constitution of India and professional Ethics to undergraduate engineering Students which is a part of VTU curriculum.

The Department consists of highly experienced, talented and dedicated faculty members of whom many are doctorates and few are pursuing their Ph.D from various reputed universities including IISc.

As added gems to the crown, the department of science and Humanities has two VTU recognized research centers for Physics and Chemistry where 7 students have registered for Ph.D program.
